Cheerful at Tribeca

Tribeca Film Festival 2012Indiwire's website The Playlist lists Cheerful Weather For The Wedding amongst it's top 15 films to watch at this years Tribeca Film Festival.

The Tribeca Film Festival is a film festival founded in 2002 by Jane Rosenthal, Robert De Niro and Craig Hatkoff in a response to the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the consequent loss of vitality in the TriBeCa neighborhood in Lower Manhattan.

The mission of the festival is "to enable the international film community and the general public to experience the power of film by redefining the film festival experience." The Tribeca Film Festival was founded to celebrate New York City as a major filmmaking center and to contribute to the long-term recovery of lower Manhattan.

Zoë plays Evelyn Graham in this film adaptation of Julia Strachey's comic short novel of the same name, centered around one day at a wedding.

Mr Selfridge

Mr SelfridgeZoë is to play the part of celebrated stage entertainer, Ellen Love (the "face" of Selfridges) in an ITV1 dramatic adaptation of the story of Harry Gordon Selfridge (of Selfridge's Store fame).

The series - Starring Jeremy Piven and Katherine Kelly - is entitled Mr Selfridge and is written by Andrew Davies.

The series is based on the book Shopping, Seduction and Mr Selfridge by author Lindy Woodhead which is the biographical account of the life of Harry Gordon Selfridge and the story of his store.

ITV has ordered ten one hour episodes for the show’s first season.

The series is being produced by ITV Studios, with Chrissy Skins and Kate Lewis serving as executive producers. Writers on the series include Andrew Davies, Kate Brooke and Katie O’Riordan, with Jon Jones set to direct.

Filming of the series is expected to begin in April with ITV slating a 2013 premiere for the series.

Mr Selfridge is set in London in 1909 and has been described as telling “the story of ‘Mile a Minute Harry’, a man with a mission to make shopping as thrilling as sex.  Pioneering and reckless, with an almost manic energy, he created a theatre of retail where any topic or trend that was new, exciting, entertaining – or sometimes just eccentric – was showcased.”

Cheerful Weather for the Wedding

Zoe TapperCheerful Weather for the Wedding is a comedy drama film starring Felicity Jones, Elizabeth McGovern, Mackenzie Crook and Zoë.

The film is currently in post-production, with a speculated release date of 2012.

No other details are as yet available.

The tag-line for the film is: "On her wedding day a girl knows she is about to make a serious mistake."

The Grind released on DVD

Zoe Tapper in The GrindThe Grind explores the dark and sometimes explosive world of running an East End nightclub.

Vince is the nightclub manager of The Grind in Hackney, East London and having fought his way to a decent living and respectable lifestyle he is determined to settle down and take life easier. Bobby, Vince’s best friend from school, is released from prison and their friendship soon falls apart. Bobby’s addiction to cocaine and gambling spirals out of control and he now owes a huge amount of money to Vince’s boss, Dave, owner of The Grind and an East End loan shark. Vince's life takes a dramatic turn for the worse.

The Grind features a commanding ensemble cast including Jamie Foreman (Inkheart, Oliver Twist, Layer Cake), Danny John Jules (Red Dwarf, Blade II, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), Zoë Tapper (Stage Beauty, Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky) and Kellie Shirley.

The Grind is released on DVD from Monday 16th April 2012 and is available from all good online and high street stores, including our online fan shop.

Blood

Zoe TapperZoë has just completed filming on another new film (due for release in 2013) called Blood. Zoë and actress Natasha Little are playing the women behind a couple of hardened cops who go too far when they investigate a murder.

The two women are the girlfriend and wife of officers being played by Stephen Graham and Paul Bettany in the taut thriller Blood, which Nick Murphy will direct at locations on the Wirral during February and March 2012.

What You Will

What You Will - a drama documentary.

What You Will PosterFluidity Films in association with Poonamallee Productions and the Filter Theatre Company have finished shooting a feature-length drama that follows a dysfunctional and anarchic theatre company as it tours the West Country with its hugely successful and critically acclaimed production of Twelfth Night.

Zoë plays the part of Katie Reed in the film, which has been shot in a fly-on-the-wall documentary style and features the performers of Filter’s Twelfth Night, led by the company’s co-artistic directors Oliver Dimsdale and Ferdy Roberts. Also appearing in cameo interview roles are The Wire’s Dominic West and Romola Garai.

What You Will was conceived by Filter with the film makers who have collaborated on devising the script. The film was directed and co-produced by Simon Reade and co-written and produced by Guy de Beaujeu.

Editing in Bristol with editor Dan Lincoln is now complete, the grade at Big Bang is finished and the music has been composed and arranged by Filter’s renowned musicians Tom Haines and Ross Hughes.

The release date to theatres and cinemas is September 14th 2012.
